What is climate change and how is it different from global warming? Even though climate change and global warming have similarities they are completely different. Climate change is like the weather and temperature in a regional area. Global warming is basically the globe heating up. Something that ties both of them together is that they occur over a long period of time. Why should we care about climate change, now, when it's been happening naturally since the Earth began? Climate change is even more important now than it used to be because of how bad and quickly its increasing. Especially with animals who are being harshly effected by this. Because when the climate changes within an animals habitat its starts to become a burden for them to handle. Most of them will die off and some of these animals have to leave and find a place where they can adapt to. Not just this but coral reefs are being affected glaciers are melting and the ocean is flooding because of weather conditions such as hurricanes. How does your project demonstrate your understanding climate change? My groups project shows our understanding of climate change. Because during the process of getting the artwork and the interviews done we had to teach the kids and refresh their minds on what climate change actually is. What was your largest area of growth during this project? I think to make more decisions and compromise with some of my group members. Because I noticed that we had alot of disagreements and a lot of the time I never really said anything. What was your greatest strength during this project? I think I grew a lot in not getting distracted because I tend to get tired of doing work and start doing other things like watching youtube. Throughout this project I have definitely started to become more focused and get more work done in class.
Infographic Project Reflection
Project Description: For this project we did info graphics. To start this project we did practice info graphics were we found any topic involving the brain. For my practice info graphic I chose to do how depression effects the brain. Eventually we moved onto our final info graphics. We chose our topics based off of the essential question being what are the biological needs of adolescence? For my topic I did Adolescent drug use, I took the percentage of adolescents that use different types of drugs. Then we got peer feedback and refined them in preparation for our exhibition. I found my topic important because drug use has definitely become a huge problem in teens and I was curious to see actual data on the amount of teen drug users.
Personal Reflection: My biggest challenge during this entire project was figuring out what I wanted to include in my info graphic. Because I had my topic chosen but there were several different things that I could talk about. I think my biggest success with my info graphic was my layout on the info graphic. If I were to do this project again I would probably choose a different topic because there was a a lot of the freshman and sophomores that chose the same topic.
